Board Meetings
The Virginia Port Authority (VPA) Board of Commissioners Public Sessions are scheduled to be held on the second Tuesday in the months of January, March, May, July, September, and November, in accordance with the VPA Bylaws. Public Sessions begin at 9:00am, with all dates and times subject to change. Committee meetings are scheduled to be held on the Monday prior to the Tuesday Public Session.

Section 62.1-129 of the Code of Virginia provides in relevant part (Amended 2017 General Assembly Session):
The Board shall consist of the State Treasurer, the Chief Executive Officer of the Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP), the Chief Executive Officer of the Virginia International Trade Corporation, and eleven members appointed by the Governor, subject to confirmation by the General Assembly. The terms of members of the Board of Commissioners appointed or reappointed by the Governor on or after January 1, 1981, shall be for five years. Any appointment to fill a vacancy shall be for the unexpired term….No member appointed by the Governor shall be eligible to serve more than two successive terms. A person appointed to fill a vacancy may be appointed to serve two additional terms.
